Lamentations for the Frontier

Over a decade ago, insurgency took another form in Nigeria with several lives losts and people displaced. Till date, we are still battling the ugly development with its attendant consequences.
Out of nowhere, banditry, herdsmen attacks, kidnapping, invasions by unknown gunmen and other forms of (sectarian) violence became very prominent especially in the northern part of Nigeria. We have lost disciples in reached and unreached places, missionaries and even the peoples we are reaching with the Gospel. We have witnessed ransacking of communities, large and small scale abductions, invasion of schools etc. The stories and sights are gory.

Inundated with the persistency of these and to which the missions family have been victims, the Nigeria Evangelical Missions Association, the umbrella body of the Nigeria Missions Movement, hereby, call for a national lamentations on behalf of all involved in Missions and especially, the frontliners. The Scriptures enjoin us to pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men, for not all have faith (2 Thess. 3:2). Join us to raise a heart-cry unto our God, who alone rules in the affairs of men. This shall happen from 25th – 27th June, 2021. Virtual and onsite congregational prayers shall hold by 5pm everyday. We urge you to mobilise your church, mission agency, network, friends and intercessors for this crucial step…

Be assured: But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one (2 Thess. 3:3)
